Hero Pulp Essay #1: The Shadow

Scifi News From The Web

Not sure why the first version of this disappeared, but here it is again, a bit improved…

The first of my video-essays on the great hero-pulp characters from the 1930’s and 40’s. This video focuses on a character who has become a pop-culture icon and American folk-hero: The Shadow.

I know some of the text goes by quick, and I’m sorry about that. But, hey… you try to squeeze in 75 years of history along with covers and stuff and make it short. That’s what the pause button is for, ha ha. ^_^

Music from “The Shadow” (Universal, 1994), sound clip from “The Shadow” radio program.
